On vacay and this my only book. That and curiosity compels. Anyway... P. 302 our hero puts his cooking gear away after eating a hot meal. P. 303 --- literally directly across the page almost line-for-line, he fished his cooking gear free to prepare himself a hot meal. This gooblydegook is what makes this almost 700 pages. Arrrrgh.

I'll keep reading...for now...but I really don't know how Maberry keeps getting to write tomes. Repetitive, inconsequential sidebars, dumbness abounds. And then he tries to use clever authorial stylistic choices he's not actually capable of. Which means his editors don't give a damn. Sad. I'll see where this goes.

Well...I remember why I wasn't terribly impressed after book 1. Lots of repeated info, sometimes even barely a few sentences apart, sometimes even with the same words. Ugh writing. Still like the main guy though.
