Status Updates From The Myth of The Negro Past

I’ve read first person accounts of slavery and racism (Douglass, Malcolm X, etc.), and I’ve read far too many opinion essays that try to shape the mythology of these topics through rhetoric alone (West, hooks, etc.), but it is most gratifying to read a book that is based on historical research of firsthand accounts, thoughtful examination of myths, and copious amounts of data with a discerning eye for bias.
