Status Updates From The World Outside My Window

I went from ”wow, what an interesting book, and it’s so well written! Yay for authors handling mental issues!” to ”Laura is such a wet blanket of a character - and her alcoholism, co-dependency, agoraphobia and being blatantly gaslighted is just… making me anxious and annoyed”. I’ll DNF this now because I have NO doubt how it’ll end, anyway and I don’t need more frustration and anxiousness, tyvm.

Okay, but how does she go from flinching if anyone even moves too quickly, to happily shaking hands and hugging?

Starting to feel… annoyingly cookie cutter, which is a strange thing to say about a book about an agoraphobic with a missing husband. It’s just too easy. And the burgeoning love story feels icky and too sugary.
