I want to put this book down and never touch the series again. How do you go from the quality of the previous book to what we have now?

We're 171 pages in, and guess how far the story has progressed? Absolutely nowhere.

Descriptions are being recycled willy nilly, pointless filler dialogue abundant, and quality through the floor.

I have never seen a book, with so much wasted space. Make it make sense. Ugh

I understand that I have an advantage of reading these books back to back, but there were only 6 months between this publication and the last. There's no reason for this much "refresher" dialogue. 70 pages in, and we have acomplished nothing aside from very basic char dev for lady Charlotte. I'm very disappointed with CGN constantly bringing up Colin as an issue for Tobias. They literally buried the hatchet long ago.
