Status Updates From The Robber Bride

I read The Robber Bride when it was first published and it is one of the three of my favourite books by Atwood. (The Blind Assassin, Alias Grace and The Robber Bride. I always say I long for Atwood to return to historical fiction/fiction just one more time instead of her dystopian fiction). I recently bought the 4-book ebook bundle and seeing as today is Atwood's 86th birthday, I'm returning to The Robber Bride.

On and on and on, about what each of the friends had for breakfast and in what clothes... Also, very much stereotypes: the academic, the business woman, the emotional hippie and of course the man-eater. I wouldn't have thought it would be so one dimensional. The men are nowhere to be seen so far, except West, who is more like a shell. They are the only reason to live for the women?
