This last chapter discussed the institutional frustration that comes with raising worker wages. given that just over 26% of voters cast ballots in this recent oklahoma primary (in which a state question to raise the minimum wage then failed). My primary frustration and reason for picking up this book for book club. The thinktank hosting needs to provide an answer revolving voter turn out.

I’m 2 chapters in and I already have some problems with these arguments
1) He mentions how much more we spend per person on social welfare from 1980 to 2018, but fails to mention that the spending is actually BELOW inflation. So in real money we are spending less!
2) He compares our poverty statistics to other countries using total magnitude, not per capita. 300 mil pop US is not the same as 70 mil France
