Status Updates From Marian's Christmas Wish

I think I'm going to have to take a crack at this another time. It's way more story than I anticipated, and the fact that I've been struggling for almost a month to get through it tells me its time to move on. I did want to get some holiday reading finished before the first of the year, so I'll put this one aside until I can devote the proper amount of time to it.
