I can’t judge if the pace of what is happening to Lucy is slow or if it only feels so because I know the outcome.
It was surprising and strangely pleasing to see that Stoker’s description of the assaults on Lucy are free of any hint of the erotic. It seems that part was added by Hammer Horror and their peers.
