Hmm... nooooo... family secrets didn't destroy anything, people making bad decisions did that and keeping it a secret only kept a snake in your den, to borrow the beast logic. Exposing the secrets is the only way to lance the wound, to cleanse the family.

So you're telling me she is using the life energy of her own dead daughter to lose weight and to be popular. And get revenge but that is only the end goal. Not sure if that makes it more tragic or just tragically poetic - to become worse than what you want to destroy.

Uf, didn't expect that. I wasn't exposed to this kind of christianity, it feels extreme and yet... I do believe forgiving people who have done a great harm to be a great virtue, it takes strength and purity of the heart. For that, I will... tolerate all the bible talk. I don't have a beef with faith, only with the... very nice people who twist it to their purpose.

Uf. I consider myself not a very shallow or materialistic person but oh my, giving her a collar? The one thing that would protect her from a bite? It's almost better than giving her a gun. I am, I think, a firm believer in appropriate gifts and while giving flowers feels very generic, this type of... almost a bribe? I may be swooning.

Jane indeed does not have a monkey necklace and that seems like an oversight. I looked for animals that can weight as much as a human and monkeys are one of them. You should totally get a monkey DNA.

These are the details I like to see - I complained about the copy-paste experience and lo and behold, we get a Beast Change that is both informative and short, good.

At least it's a better attack of conscience than "I had sex out of marriage". Not "I cheated on my boyfriend" or "I sprayed the werewolves with so many bullets none were left" but... I killed a guy who was going to kill me. Ok, Jane, it's not a bad line to draw.

Seriously? I know Jane dislikes vamps and she has good reasons for it but being sorry only for a human? Jane is kind of... spiecest. I knew on some level but darn.

Maybe it's just me but I like this better. The law enforcement is mostly bigoted (and/or speciest?) and mostly distrusts our Jane, but their cooperation feels more... natural. Like Jane, I am also not sure about a vamp hunter being so interwined in their world - is she closer to the relevant targets? Does it lessen the chance of vamp revenge? Is it worth it to be so close to beings she distrusts and hunts?

Feels like Jane's coming out =D and if she is, Rick is going for the "look accepting and understanding no matter what" approach. I like this scene so far!

I think the heroine is solving the mystery and closing in on the bad guys but there are six more hours of audiobook! I must be missing something…
