I agree with this as a stand alone sentence, but more so in this case as the critique of "cultural appropriation" as defended by the left.

Such an important read. I just completed a graduate diploma in DEI and was involved in activism and politics here in Québec. I knew something was off: even though the work mattered, I often felt myself veering away from liberal philosophy and values. This essay lays the groundwork for understanding those “woke” dynamics I got involved in.

reading this in parts— i think this book definitely has some merit to its point, but it kinda goes in circles around the same ideas of protecting universalism/free speech. some people align with ideas that intentionally hate other communities and i think that’s worth taking into account
