Status Updates From Summer Heat

Die letzten beiden Kurzgeschichten sind auch nicht besser als der Quark zuvor. *seufz*

'90 Days' ist absolut nicht besser. Oberflächliche Story und Charaktere - selbst unter Anbetracht der Thematik Selbstfindung zu schwach ausgearbeitet.

'Downsized' hat mir viel zu egomanische Protagonisten und zum Teil eine zu schwach durchdachte Storyline. Wünschte, wenigstens die Charaktere wären sympathisch gewesen. Aber hier machen weder die noch die Lovestory Sinn. *seufz* Hoffentlich ist 'Ninety Days' besser.

Oh goodness. I'm not a fan of this book. The worst is when the author writes moans the people do, like Ooooooooouuumm mmmmm yeaaahhh. I am found that so funny. Really, please don't do that in your books, let the imaginations take over to the kinds of moans happen. I didn't like the stories but I've read books way off so it's a 2 star book for me.

"Shaken and Stirred" was a cute story, and I liked the writing style, but I'm not thrilled with the (almost) sex scene. The thought of an agent screwing a criminal mastermind just gives me the heebie-jeebies, somehow.

"Butterflies in Motion" had an interesting writing style, but it's very clear that it's an excerpt rather than a short story.

Finished "Ninety Days". I enjoyed this one more than "Downsized". I liked the plot, although the writing seemed a bit choppy and I don't feel like I got to know the characters as people.

Finished "Downsized" only to find that it's an excerpt from a longer story. If I'd known that I wouldn't have downloaded the book. I hate excerpts.

So after losing her job (which she needed in order to pay for all the product-placement junk), Lonnie has become a stripper. Okay, so the story's got a bit more interesting.

Not impressed with the first story so far. Protagonist seems more interested in material things than people or love or - well, anything. Maybe it's my fault - I was expecting the book to be erotic romance, which it doesn't seem to be.

Boo... God I wish I didn't have this rule where, once I start a book I have to finish it. This blows:(
