There's something about the way Lehane writes that's so captivating, so engaging, yet so easy to read. The way he explores humanity is masterfully done, but it's not flashy. He uses language that anyone can understand and that's really impressive. Nobody's a perfect person, yet you can understand what everyone's thinking and going through.

I'm glad this book is as long as it is. No time is wasted and it never drags.
