Can’t believe I finished this; I only started this afternoon. Joelle was annoying for almost all of this book. She was hypocritical and didn’t see her own faults that she found in others. This book would have been better if she had realized that sooner and hadn’t been so annoying. I liked the hint of romance between her and Devin.

I feel sorry for Nicole, having all this pressure on her. She doesn’t like riding Valor because he’s above her skill level. Why force her to show on a horse she isn’t ready for??

A ten year old girl describing her father as handsome? I don’t think so.

Secondly. Shouldn’t Joelle have been told older mares have trouble foaling for the first time before they got her mare pregnant. Also stop autocorrecting me!!

Two odd things already (I’m not surprised haha). It’s nice to have depth to a mean character but I wish Joelle as the main character was different from the usual stubborn can’t-see-past-own-emotions girl that the TB series is all about. Maybe she could then empathise with Devin for losing his sister & being made at life.
