The words are light, so light that Xia Xiqing can’t catch them. But then they suddenly become heavy, crashing relentlessly into his heart, burrowing in so deeply that he can’t dig them back out.

It takes both courage and patience to hug a rose.
I know that the thorns will get stuck in my skin, that they’ll insert themselves into my veins, but it’s okay. Just give me a minutes. I’ll pull them back out. These pains are only temporary.
But I still want to hug that rose.

He told himself that he shouldn’t let himself sink too deep into this, but it’s like he’s driving a car with no brake pedal and the edge of the cliff is fast approaching.
No one can save him now.

“Buy up all the art Xia Xiqing has ever made of me. I want to take it to the grave with me.”
At the end of his statement, Zhou Ziheng gently kisses the dazed Xia Xiqing on the lips, stealing away his gun and his heart.
Xia Xiqing never imagined that he would ever fall in love with anyone.

“If I find out you’re messing around with others, I will ruin you.”

Zhou Ziheng turns and walks quickly toward him. He grabs his collar and speaks in a low and angry voice.
“I’m willing to be threatened by you, but that doesn’t mean you can purposely hurt yourself.” His heart is lit by fire, burning hot and beating violently. With his neckline loosened, Xia Xiqing stands blankly, consumed by Zhou Ziheng’s power.

Each touch feels like he’s dancing with fire. He’s standing between heaven and hell. Just jump. We can die in each other’s arms.

I love it when a goody two-shoes turns into a psychotic alpha. 😏
