The Departure of Boromir is so fitting. All three, Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli, stopped the fight to honor Boromir's fight for the Fellowship. Aragorn and Legolas even sang for Boromir, and Tolkien can somehow make it work, and Aragorn and Legolas singing in my imagination was a joy to experience. No other way could I see Boromir's death be honored in the books. And this is the first chapter. Tolkien kills darlings!
