Finished Chapter 2! Valentin can't sleep because he feels bad for leaving Molina hanging about his girlfriend. He promises to tell Molina more about her when he feels up to it, and tells Molina to get some sleep by thinking about the next movie he'll tell him. Overall, good chapter!

Molina finishes the movie, which ends with Irena turning into a panther and killing her psychiatrist, then allowing herself to be killed by a real panther. Valentin is sad the movie is over because he got attached to the characters, just like he got attached to his girl. His girl came from an upper-class family, but then she got involved with a guy from college before getting involved with a political reporter.

Just started reading Chapter 2. Molina describes Irena's attempts to attack the assistant in panther form, but it bothers Valentin, who thinks about his girlfriend being in danger while he can't help her. Likewise, Molina worries about his mother, who has a weak heart. The two decide to finish the film tomorrow, while Valentin thinks about his girl, and Molina picks another movie to tell Valentin.

Finished Chapter 1! Irena sees a psychiatrist about her issues, but stops after one session, unbeknownst to the man, and goes to the zoo instead. A year later, the man finds out Irena has been lying to him and confides in his assistant, who secretly loves him. Irena finds out about the man spending time with her and prowls after her in the night, though she appears to turn into a panther. Yikes!

After a cat-like woman tells Irena to remember who she is and watch out for men, Irena reveals to her boyfriend that she may be part of an old race of panther women who kill men who kiss them. Though she doesn't want him to kiss her, the two love each other get married. The narrator's cellmate, however, makes offensive jokes, and they end for the night after an argument over perceptions of the boyfriend's mother.
