already hating the writing style but it’s an easy read

He chuckled. “I thought maybe if I made a grand gesture at Christmas, you might be more willing to give me a second chance. You love your movies, after all.”

“No way, I’m too heavy.”
He side-eyed me. “Please, Mattie. I can carry you.”

“If you think you’re leaving my sight after today, you’re out of your
mind,”

I cried again over Garrett. Then I got myself so worked up about the Giles situation that I managed to shed a few tears over that too. There’s no way he was actually into me. It was just him feeling vulnerable and confused. Then I cursed myself for being so self-deprecating. Of course, he could like me. Why not? But then I broke down again, convinced no one would ever truly love me and that I’d be alone forever.
