This book hard but so rewarding . Essentially the Roman’s misinterpreted Plato’s ideas of eternal truths , which then the Roman’s spun it to a belief in old traditions which then when the created the Catholic Church once Rome fell, and created all of western philosophy

Spoke too soon, this essay on "the crisis in education" is taking a huge toll on her esteem. I don't teach anymore but I simply cannot abide the idea that experimental pedagogy (which at the time of writing would probably be like Constructivism and maybe the earliest roots of democratic teaching) is the cause of some nonspecific educational crisis. Hopefully she pulls it around at the end like she did earlier

I'm only halfway through but I'm calling it now- 5 stars. Easily. Even if the second half of essays ends up being a waste of time, the first four are completely electric
