I am almost done with reading the four book historical fiction biography of Simon Montfort, the founder of Parliament. It is so interesting to read about the early foundations of English government and laws and how we in the United States would adopt so many of these. Simon Montfort fought for the common man and wanted the common man, not just the barons to have a say in government.
