What a turn of events! Jack, the dog hater, turning into the dog defender; and Algie, who always stood up for the dogs, turns into the animal torturer.
No wonder he doesn't call him fat anymore, now there are valid reasons to hate him.

Oh god, his fatphobia got even worse when Aenie bathed, and even more,he described his Venus toe (which I also have) as disgusting, repulsive and shameful. Dude really has some serious issues, I can't wait to cheer for the ghost (who's yet to appear).

The protagonist hates dogs. Apart from having poverty in common, I really don't like anything about this character. And yes, calling Angie fat at every turn contniues. He complains of how the rich guys treat him, but he's quite the asshat himself. It's gonna be hard to feel bad for him when things go downhill.

Eriksson, local the skipper, keeps warning them, and they keep mocking him for it. That always goes well.

It's all fine and well, except can the protagonist/narrator stop calling Algie fat every single time he refers to him? Yes, he's fat, yes, it's the 40s, but damn
