Status Updates From Slam the Big Door

This has got real good now. We're supposed to mainly be interested in Troy's insanity, but the real estate swindling is what really holds my interest. Good guys keep trading places with the bad guys, so I don't know whose side I'm supposed to be on. JDM can really pull this sort of thing off when he gets his mind out of the candlelight-and-sunsets gutter. I'm realy happy with this book now.

So far, a lot more Nature Boy and less Love Boat than JDM's usual. Even started right off with a two-page Nature Boy musing. Seems like it's about some kind of real estate swindle and that suits me just fine -- but I can do without the descriptions of the sunsets and kinds of trees on the real estate in question.

Again, the skag, Jerranna, is more like a beatnik than anyone in the 3 beatnik books.

No invasive love stories so far, but I'm not getting my hopes up. I don't think JDM thinks he's done a day's work till he turns his book into a Harlequin Romance.

Pretty good, so far. Not a lot of Witty Banter, but I have a low tolerance for it, so still too much.

The blurb says this is a Whatdunnit.
