I really liked Whereto, My Beloved? Like the last chapter, it again had a more personal tone, and recounted experiences during the height of the AIDS crisis. This is also the first chapter where I related to the spiritual elements, both in struggling to find a faith that fit me and in some of the discussions about leaving dualism and definable, non contradictory gods. Some terms here though, are still outdated.

Okay I know that this is still an issue to this day but if I have to read the term "Judeo-Christian" one more time I will scream. Seeing how I'm out of the Christian part and we've still got a lot of non-Abrahamic essays to go though, there will probably be a Lot Of Screaming.

Bi God is the first chapter I've really liked. Maybe it's because the author is also from the South, had binge eating problems, and a leftist dissatisfied with leftism... Or maybe because the tone is much more relatable. There are still some issues that pop up, again due to the time (the writer was talking about experiences in the 70s & 80s) but I liked this chapter more than the ones before it. Hope it keeps up!

Finished the next essay, God as The Divine Androgen. I feel like this essay really brought home that this book is now 17 years old, and that a lot of things have changed since the turn of the century with regards to genders outside the binary. I also found myself frustrated at the writer's insistence that everyone had "the potential for bisexuality" and "bisexual souls", like some New Age version of "everyone's bi".

Finished the first essay, titled The Holy Leper and the Bisexual Christian. I feel mixed, because while I love the line about striving to not see either men nor women as superior to each other (which I relate to as a bi person who has been told to "remember that women are the better choice"), the talk about Judaism and mentions of illness/leprosy left something to be desired, nuance-wise.
