picking up very nicely. i’ve learned i’m quite indifferent to war novels but a piece of campus nostalgia will always ensnare me. plus waugh is doing great things with voice in a way that reminds me of the pointed satire of vile bodies. he is a master of character! and i cannot help but compare my own experience to charles’ oxford days. how things change, but others feel so familiar!!!
