Omg, WHO THE HELL CARES?! I guess the sole purpose of our lengthy detour into that incidental character was to infodump about the War of 1812 & colonial American politics, then affirm that Mary Sue Alex & Gary Stu Rane so clearly belong together because it’s just *so* obvious nobody else will ever suit them better than each other. Woohoooooo. 😒

I think the previous owner abandoned this book here (chapter 7)—there are no more creases, & the spine feels tight like it hasn’t been opened very much. I can’t blame them, whoever they were. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz. 😴

I keep forgetting to read this. Like, literally. That’s (another) bad sign. 🫣

After finishing a 5-star doorstopper last night, I’m sure to have a hangover. 🫣 The odds that anything will measure up are slim indeed, so I decided to bite the bullet on this particular chunky brick I’ve been side-eyeing for years. I don’t like shipbuilding & I’m not much into horses either, so wtf I still have this trilogy is a mystery. I’m not very optimistic. 🙈
