Thoughts so far:
- Elle is a very lovable protagonist
- Jealous
- Can substitute teachers unilaterally assign detention?
- I feel like Elle’s mom would just have to call the admin and be like, “A substitute teacher deliberately misgendered my child and then mocked them in front of class” and it would probably get resolved then and there. Especially in a state where gender expression is protected.
