Status Updates From The Architects of Hyperspac...

DNF about five chapters in and that was struggle enough.
I can get past most of the expected cringey 80’s sci-fi writing pains if there’s good enough characters or narrative hook but I really don’t see this one paying off in either of those aspects to make up for the men writing women sexism, 2d characters and simply horrendous dialogue.

The world doesn't feel as real as Vinge's (but which does, really?) and there is a bit of a sexist undertone here and there (which I'll allow because the 80s) but other than that I'm really enjoying it so far.

Can't say much about the plot yet but I like the writing style so far.
