Wow this went in an unexpected direction with Rose moving. I liked the part in Laura’s perspective. These books aren’t as enjoyable as Laura’s, and Rose definitely isn’t as likable a heroine as Laura. I didn’t like some of the subject matter in here. I hope Rose and Paul make it.

9-13.pg275. This book is so different from the others. I prefer Rose as a kid. She’s only gotten worse as she’s getting older. Lying, sneaking out, she can be really unlikable at times. Like a modern day bratty teenager in historical times. Not pleasant, even more so that it’s the little house series and should be wholesome! I can’t believe what I’m reading!

9-11.pg202. It’s amazing how mature Rose is for her age, and how politics have always been the same.

Interesting reading about the turn of the century. Hard to believe six years have passed since they moved to the farm.

Finally done. This was a roller coaster of a read. Drama upon drama. Rose was so unlikable and such a problem for them. I did not enjoy this one at all. I couldn’t wait for it to be over. I didn’t like anything that happened and she kept making bad decision after bad decision. It wasn’t until the end that she got her head on straight and then didn’t stop being a brat concerned about herself. No. And so draggy.

I do not like the state things are in. Rose has become so unlikable and bratty. She like flipped a switch. Then she aged 2 years without warning and I don’t like the jump. I hope things even out but I hate what’s become of her relationship with Laura and her thoughts and what she cares about. Feels so vain and materialistic. Ready to be done.

The writing is still so different without the author; characters speak differently, how Rose thinks and the writing. The bit of love made it more interesting so I hope that comes back. A very different feel as she gets older. So much changing in the world too.
