Chaper 4: After getting through the river of Acheron Dante and Virgil are finally in the hell and it is said there are 7 circles (the last one has 3 stages) and each represents a sin and a punishmant for it. In the first cicle are the virtuous pagans just like Virgil who were born before Jesus and couldn't believe in him because they were simply in a different timeline and are suffering for that. Even though not much

Chapter 3: The vestibule of hell
Dante meets a group of people at the gate of hell who in their lives did not choose good but neather did they choose evil so they are suffering at the gate of hell because neather hell or heaven would open their gates for them. He refers to pope Celestive V who went back from being a pope only after 5 months because he was not into politics. Dante blamed him a lot for doing nothing.

Chapter 2: Dante doubting he is worthy enough of going through this journey but Virgil tells him that even christians like (a saint I don't remember his name) and Aeneas (the one who left Troy to come to Rome) went through it. He also explain a solar system (not accurate) which he expresses as the nine heavens and above the last one (Premium mobile 9th heaven) isn't anything materialistic only God angels etc.
