Status Updates From Knight In Black Leather

I stayed up way past my usual bedtime last night because I couldn't bear to put this book down.

The plot is way better than I initially thought it would be.

Can't fault the slow and steady buildup to the romance.

Sadly, this reads like it's been written by a older person who has no idea how young men behave. It's straight-up ridiculous.

A few years ago, I wouldn't have bothered reading this novel, finding the premise too fantastical: a man falling for a woman 14 years older than him. But back when I was 41-42, a young man of about 20-22 years of age decided he loved me. Really handsome, tall, popular. I didn't get it at all. I didn't pursue it, since he was too young for me. But I can believe this premise now.

I've enjoyed the author's "Blood Magic", so I thought I would give her other novels a try.

Love the two leads but I'm getting soooo fed up of the h's disgusting family. They're nuts!

Marilyn's mother is just awful!! Geez, I don't like that woman. I about died laughing when she discovered Marilyn and Eli making out in the elevator!! Lol!!!

Really off to a great start!! I love Marilyn's take charge attitude and Eli is a tough guy with a heart of gold. Their witty banter is cracking me up!!

Books like this are why I read. I am loving this.

Weirdly enough, my second book set in Pittsburgh in a couple days. Already this author made me think she might have actually been here before unlike the last one.

Man I really hope this couple makes it to the HEA....The mother would take the #1 spot on a HIT LIST!!!....geez I don't like that woman....I kinda hope that Marilyn gets a makeover or something...I mean..39 is not too old to be HOT!!!

"She's not my mother." Eli leaned back and allowed the hospital personnel to position him on the table...
"No," Eli said in his broken-sounding voice. "We're lovers."
Lol! Oh lawd. And it begins.

He pulled back and peered through the dark at her, wishing he could see more. His eyes had adjusted to the darkness but he could still see only the shape of her face. Was she smiling? Frowning? Or did she have that dead serious expression that made his heart want to stop? It's very good! Frankly, I am surprised.

He was still kissing her some moments later, his good hand planted squarely on her bottom and her hands inside his open jacket, when the elevator doors rumbled open once more. The noise registered even less on Marilyn's brain this time than last. Whoever it was would have to ignore them if they wanted to ride the elevator. "Marilyn Frances Franks!" It's very good. Very real. Very honest.
