Status Updates From Virgin Queen, The

The conversation is super awkward. It's not normal at all. Basically all the characters are giving a history and saying 'nan bullen' was beheaded and Catherine Howard was beheaded in and Cromwell was beheaded for marrying my father to anne of Cleves. Just cramming facts into what makes for super awkward and ridiculous conversation.

I made the mistake of requesting this one on NetGalley; I thought it was nonfiction. And I did not read the description as closely as I should have. I really don't like fiction. I'm going to try to muddle through. We'll see how this goes.

"I had never seen King Henry the Eighth, but one look at his daughter's face made me realise why men still spoke in an undertone of the late King's temper."

Either I got this completely wrong and this book is not a factual book, or it is and is written from a rather unique perspective, managing to blur the lines between fiction and non-fiction. Either way, I am enjoying it so far.

I am well overdue a non-fiction read!
