One of the worst books I've ever had to endure. I'd DNF it right now if it wasn't required reading for a university class.
Disheartening as an English lit student to realize how bland these supposedly profound novels tend to be.
A 6 year old witnesses a man shot in front of his eyes and dies right in front of him -- doesn't change seem to impact him at all.
P.S. The tonal whiplash throughout is astounding.
