I am having a lot of anxiety about the world and this is a VERY anxious book. It is feeling like the literary equivalent of being dragged slowly into a dark basement filled with feral clowns and so I am going to put it down for a bit until my baseline state isn’t ’jittery and uneasy’.

The starting parts of every vorkosigan saga book is usually the weakest part of the book but holy shit this started off strong. Incredible stuff. There's such a sense of foreboding and anxiety.
