He smiled at me, and I got the impression that the sun came out and all the birds suddenly burst out singing. I took some sort of control of my besotted thoughts, and said feebly: "Do come in. I was just finishing here."

“Well, thank you! How very kind.” I seemed to be saying that, with various shades of insincerity, almost every hour on the hour.

How, Mary? How were you able to write in such a totally spellbinding and charming way? I’m forever in awe…

Oh, how I love intelligent characters. Intelligent, shrewd characters, especially. It’s so refreshing😍👏🏻.

It irks me when I’m coming to fairly apparent conclusions that go right over the mc’s head🤦🏼‍♀️

Oh... to be able to write like Mary Stewart... *wistful sigh*

Also, I just saw that this book was published the year I was born. For some reason, that makes me happy :-p.
