I came to the series because I loved the narrator XE Sands and I am so pleased! The way that she does the variety of voices and creatures is just stunning. Plus the fact that for Norwegian (inspired) slow cruel accent for the main baddie sounds so much like Alexander Skarsgård, hawt!🐉🔥

Not my usual genre of books (shifters and steampunk etc) but this is interesting. Haven't read a fantasy book that takes place somewhere close to me so that's fun especially when I know the parts of Seattle and area that they are talking about.
The characters are well written and the scenarios are realistic if you could say that about a fantasy book.
Or is it a fantasy? 🐉👻⚡🦅

So far this feels like a transplanted retelling of Darkfever-- young woman's close sister moves away from home for college, gets swept up in whatever she's doing in her new hometown, acts cagey with family, found horribly murdered. Surviving sister is determined to figure out what happened, especially when creep hits the fan, even if that means teaming up with an arrogant, dangerous (totally supernatural) older man.
