Status Updates From Journey to Hidaya

I want to love it…
Haroun’s character is keeping me engaged, but I wouldn’t have made it to chapter eight without him. Zoya’s unlikability works when it comes to her coworkers, but as a reader, I needed to feel something more for her sooner. The hint at her redeeming qualities comes too late. And her feminism rant would have been landed stronger if it were tighter and framed as a dialogue with Haroun.

Also just realizing that this seems like a self-published book? I'm not 100% sure--it says it was published by "Merrinore Press" but when I look that up the only thing associated with it is this book. Some self published books are great ofc but this one has lots of self-published-book stereotypes--mainly feeling like it needs a lot of editing.
