I'm really liking the character development: real people having real conversations & in-jokes. The main character seems like someone I would want to not like but would end up liking anyway because their personality demands it. I hated to put the book down last night. Reminds me somewhat of Toward Yesterday what with the entire world being mysteriously affected by a displacement event.
