I'm blown away that they actually got to the point of having flown NZ celebrities to the states before shit really started falling apart.

I've had this book in my possession for 2 days. If I hadn't been a part of a different fan community, I wouldn't believe any of this was true. But I know fans can be some of the craziest and most generous people out there. I'm loving this book so far.

Interesting look at the crazier side of fandom. Could of done without all of the transgender bashing.

Fascinating look into the craziness of fandom. I only tangentially knew of it happening as it was going on, as I'm not involved in the LotR fandom. I could do without the transgender bashing though. I get the author has valid reasons to be unhappy with these people. It doesn't make it right to become a bigot because of it.
