Mulholland Drive portion was great. Love that movie. Excited to see the Inland Empire portion!

Fire Walk With Me section rocks. It knows that the movie is good! Relates it to melodrama and explore how interesting Lynch’s relationship to melodrama is!

The Wild at Heart section will maybe make me like the movie more next time I watch it. The language gets a bit pretentious sometimes and follows more psychoanalytical theoretical models than I would maybe like, but Lynch is definitely a director for whom that kind of reading is apt.

Describes Lost Highway as “furniture porn” and convincingly shows you why. Great stuff.

Blue Velvet section goes bananas. Briefly thought it was going to do the thing I hate where people try and place Lynch in an exclusively postmodern, knowing, detached position, but it turns up at the last second and acknowledges the depths hidden behind the semi-ironic gee-wiz patina. It’s incredible stuff.

The Elephant Man portion for a bit too in the postmodern weeds for my liking, but it’s still good! Onto Blue Velvet.

Cracking my brain open like a gourd. Great Eraserhead section.
