Status Updates From Gunner Cade

The end is only the beginning, for the characters. But as far as the story's concerned it's a good stopping point. Arc's over, growth finished, not much left to say. Just the revolution itself. The numbers.

A history lesson.

By this point Cade should have known better.

Sudden escalation. Pretty good.

I like Fledwick. I'm imagining him with a Droopy voice.

Cade is an absolute dunce and, at this stage of the story, deserves everything that's coming to him.

so far this feels very much like a "wrongfully convicted man on the run" style film noir in a dystopian far future where the main character allies with prostitutes and drug runners (who sell tobacco which is illegal in this future) with so many interesting details to the worldbuilding (e. g. the supreme commander of the sharpshooter order living in the ruins of the Pentagon) and a convoluted twisty plot... I like!

Really liking this... taking place in a distant future with humanity ruled by a theocratic empire whose elite military is a monastic order, clear influence on "Dune" and "Warhammer 40K". The plot follows one of these soldiers who gets captured by resistance forces, reported KIA by the superiors and mistaken for an impostor resulting in a planetwide manhunt... interesting to see where this goes!
