I just took a class on O'Connor and found that understanding her is tremendously helpful in understanding her fiction. This was a quick read--not as ponderous as I would have expected of a "spiritual biography." It seems like the most difficult aspect of FO to tackle would be her views on race, and as a non-expert, this treatment seemed honest, providing context and nuance without justifying the unjustifiable.
