The main character's name is Andy short for Andrew. According to the website it means something along the lines of "masculine". People with this name are thought to be mature, wholesome and strong. The name was also decently popular when the book was published. I think the character was given such a common name to tie into the man on the run idea, and how someone who just looks so normal could have a lot going on.
