Status Updates From Free Will

Anything that our brain does or decides is something that we have done or decided. Compatibilism solves the problem of free will by ignoring it. How can we be free as conscious agents if everything we intend is caused by events in our brain that we do not intend or are unaware of?

On vacation in England and found this in a free bin so I picked it up for a reread.

Starting to believe that “free will” is just a concept. There are voluntairy and unvoluntairy decisions, both are NOT free will. You are not controlling the storm. You are the storm. Researchers found that a decision can be read in your brain a few SECONDS before you actually decide it..

Extremely interesting, almost stressful. If I don’t have “free will” then what does that mean from there?

I’m not sure how much I agree. I’m having mixed thoughts about it. I think Harris and I simply have two different definitions of free will.
