Woolf has this excruciatingly antagonizing way of writing that leaves me (quite frankly!) very lost. I detested Orlando, but then I was terribly enamored with To the Lighthouse, and now The Waves, as a whole, leaves me grasping for any sense of narrative consistency. As far as sentence construction and novel semantic innovation goes, I’m thrilled. Alas, I will be stuck on page 35 for the foreseeable future!

It is like trying to understand somebody by only listening to their brain, without any interpretation from their mind. Whilst I do not understand everything the feeling they convey pierces through me in a way I have never felt before.
