where is this going, I wonder. Like, don't get me wrong, it's all still so exquisite and gorgeously written (that Lucifer and Xas conversation, dear GOD) but... I am pretty uninterested in Xas and Flora? yay Xas has a friend but like, his relationship with Cole is insane and ELECTRIC, I want to read more of that, as horrible as it is

elizabeth knox just has the most gorgeous writing, not even the lackluster audio narrator can peel away it's magic. as a sequel, i'm still not sure why we needed this bc the first book was so gorgeous on its own, BUT, i really do love being inside Xas' head, he's such a beautifully drawn character
