Somehow I have no idea what I'm reading here. What is this book even about? Sooo, Xas is into Cole although he's treating him badly (like he does with everyone). It seems less like being horny and more like a form of self punishment?
I love are the parts about the first book, about Xas'point of view and about what happened after Sobran's death.
But book 2 is veeeery slow.
Again, I thought the same about book 1

Maybe I'm just easily bored in the last few weeks or maybe I'm worse at picking out books than in the months before?

This book doesn't really click. But I remember from reasing part 1 the first time, that sometimes it's worth having patience.
Still it feels like it could be a good book, but it somehow doesn't yet feel like a good sequel. If you know what I mean...

I am really loving this book -

where is this going, I wonder. Like, don't get me wrong, it's all still so exquisite and gorgeously written (that Lucifer and Xas conversation, dear GOD) but... I am pretty uninterested in Xas and Flora? yay Xas has a friend but like, his relationship with Cole is insane and ELECTRIC, I want to read more of that, as horrible as it is

I don't really know where this is going but it's just incredibly beautiful. I could just read about Xas, like, forever

elizabeth knox just has the most gorgeous writing, not even the lackluster audio narrator can peel away it's magic. as a sequel, i'm still not sure why we needed this bc the first book was so gorgeous on its own, BUT, i really do love being inside Xas' head, he's such a beautifully drawn character
