Status Updates From Nobody Is Ever Missing

You can tell this is a debut novel - bold and messy.

I love all of the motifs and imagery in this book - the repeated image of a hand on a shoulder, invasive thoughts/anxiety symbolized by wildebeests - but wow there are so many run-on sentences. 😅

“I am or we were (or still are) the kind of people who can never quite get away from our losses, the kind of people who don’t know that magic trick that other people seem to know - how to dissolve a sense of loss, how to unbraid it from a brain.”

“…and though I knew I had the potential to do this locked inside me like a poisonous pet snake, I knew I didn’t have the part of a person you must have to turn the potential kinetic, to be the kind of person who can let their awful plow.”
