Jeez, how can such a short book be so filled with backstory that it's nothing BUT backstory? *taps foot impatiently*

Started off decently, but dragging now. C'mon already.

Lol. Heroine, now 18, flashes back to when a live-in friend of her father's catches her playing with mom's cocktail dresses + lipstick, so he extorts a makeout session in exchange for not telling anyone...when she's 10 years old. 🙈 Obv this dude isn't dangerous. Nope!
