Okay so I did see that coming but the incest ratio of this book is still way higher than normal books and we are once again tipping into the territory of me furiously googling the author’s name to find out if he’s racist

Okay it’s getting strange, things are getting weird. Once is an uncomfortable quirk but we’ve had four now rapid fire so let’s get serious things are strange

Quarter way through the book and no sign of the plot of the main story. Not that I particularly mind. Questionable character choices and social politics aside, good so far

At the risk of sounding like a lunatic, did this guy name his kid after a shoe? Also is he racist? Cause the internet keeps providing me with ostensibly equity focused initiatives that he is responsible for but I’m not feeling great!

Reading backwards. Finally got to number one in the series. Nice to follow the story line when his son, Kid, is younger. I am vaguely familiar with the actual Lake On The Mountain. Kind of a pretty spot and a weird phenomena. Prince Edward County has become trendy rural since this was written. Now it is not such a remote creepy place for a death now. But it is surreal and a good drive from the 'big city'.
