I think that the book right now is interesting with the amount of information about the world building. Zeke the boy who is the widows son is more or less careless and only wants to prove that his grandfather/father wasn't so bad of a person than everyone thought he was. The widow wants to know where her son went due to wanting to keep him safe. I think the story right now is to prove the people of the city wrong.
