On chapter nine, just getting started, but I'm enjoying Frances' clean but emotive writing style, in this story about a firefighting pilot who loses his life during wildfire season in British Columbia. I've only visited the West Coast once, and therefore I'm not so familiar with the culture and industry around fighting wildfire. So far, a compelling and turbulent read.
