While there are some interesting elements/moments, it's not really what I was looking for. Then again, it is a nice break from the usual creature feature ... still ... the Church, exorcisms, immortal priests and demons ... meh.

This is so different from the last Shea novelette (which I've finished only a short while ago) that it's like being thrown into cold water.

So far, we have a tortured soul spreading death (and who nevertheless calls someone else "master" for some reason), a frightened Pope and a questionable priest who is looking forward to a good fight.
